When directing mascots, where exactly do you look to address them? Making eye contact isn’t really effective because then the talent can’t see you. And explaining precise directions to their mouth can feel a bit odd. Luckily, when you’re working with professionals, they’ll have plenty of gestures to communicate everything necessary – while staying in character.

This in-stadium feature was created for the Wisconsin Lottery in collaboration with Hiebing and will appear on the scoreboard at the end of the 7th inning during every Milwaukee Brewers home game.

Creative was tight and fully approved from the start. However, suggesting additional close-ups with snap zooms, akin to a Hollywood-style western duel was part of our pitch to add an additional layer of fun and action.

Challenges included not only finding an indoor baseball field but also a large outfield wall that could stand in for Brewers stadium. Final delivery involved breaking down the project into multiple exported layers so that the Brewers production team could add final attendance numbers minutes before playback. Along with the creation of multiple variations to keep spectators guessing throughout the season.
